We decided to go to Charlottesville for Labor Day Weekend 2025. Aiden had school holidays on August 29 and September 1 and my last day of training ended on August 29 so we left around 1. It took us around 4 hours to get there after making some stops and we checked in to the Courtyard Marriott around 5 PM. After checking in, we drove to downtown Charlottesville to walk on the main pedestrian street. It was quite lively and we had some good pizza! Then we fortunately caught the UVA band playing since it’s their first home game this weekend. The next day, we toured UVA campus, played putt-putt and saw the UVA football game in the evening at 6 for several hours. On Sunday, we did some shopping and took in a vineyard called Hazy Mountain which had spectacular view plus the weather was amazing! A great Labor Day trip to mark my retirement, birthday, and promotion to FS-1!
